Massachusetts Rocks the House of Love!

As a DC resident, there's nothing I love more than picking up The Washington Post and finding an uplifting story about another advance in the journey toward equal marriage rights for gay couples.

Imagine my delight when I found a wonderful story in this morning's Post. Did you find something similar in your paper?

Essentially, the news our community has received today is this: Massachusetts has upheld the right for gay couples to wed -- at least until 2008.

My favorite part of the article (see link to full text below): "In the meantime, the weddings began. Since the first one on May 17, 2004, more than 6,100 gay couples have wed, accounting for about 17 percent of all the state's weddings during that period. Each one made the idea of same-sex marriage more acceptable, observers say."

May there be many more, Massachusetts! For those about to (wed), we salute you!
